Today, I’m attending the Game Industry Conference—but this time, I’m going the budget‐friendly way. For the first time in years, I’m entering on the so‐called “student onion” deal, meaning I only paid for a Poznań Game Arena ticket, which grants me free access to GIC.

No free coffee or buffet for me, but I’ll still get to meet incredible people and listen to fascinating talks. I’ll also have access to the Career Zone, where I might even land a job opportunity. It’s a strange feeling—after seven years, I’m job hunting again. Just last year, I was the one doing the hiring.

Why the “onion” route? Because I simply can’t afford the IndieDev pass (690 PLN). Instead, I paid 51 PLN for a one‐day PGA ticket, which includes free entry to GIC. I won’t be staying overnight, so I’ll miss some after‐parties, but I’m glad GIC offers this option at all.

And I’m not ashamed of it.

To keep my company afloat, finish my project, and survive three months without income, I’ve burned through around 40,000 PLN in savings. My wife and I were planning to buy an apartment on a mortgage—now that has to wait.

But that’s the price of chasing your dreams.

I don’t regret a thing.

Money comes and goes.

Hoje tem, amanhã não. (Today you have it, tomorrow you don’t.)

At least I finally have a game out—available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG—and someday, it’ll pay off.
